Tirupati Laddu Adulteration: When Faith Was Betrayed, GHHRC Acted

When the sanctity of Hindu faith is violated, GHHRC does not remain silent. We act with responsibility, resolve, and accountability.

In the aftermath of the shocking Tirupati Laddu adulteration scandal, the Global Hindu Human Rights Collective (GHHRC) led a protest rally outside the TTD office in Himayat Nagar, Hyderabad, demanding immediate accountability, transparency, and strict action against those responsible. The protest specifically called out TTD trust employees who, in collusion with a private vendor, not only betrayed administrative duty but violated the faith of millions of devotees and defiled one of Hinduism’s most sacred places of worship.

GHHRC formally submitted a petition to the TTD authorities, outlining the gravity of the offence and demanding corrective and punitive action. In a deeply symbolic and faith-rooted act, a petition was also placed into the temple hundi itself. An appeal to Bhagwan Venkateswara Swamy against the injustice inflicted upon Hindu devotees.

Moments like these reaffirm a civilizational truth: Bhagwan Shri Venkateswara Swamy protects Dharma and ensures justice. The exposure of this racket and the punishment of wrongdoers stand as yet another reminder of that protection.
Namo Venkateshaya Namaha.

A Clear Message to the Administration and the Nation

When systems fail, Dharma will speak and GHHRC will carry its voice.

What the Investigation Has Revealed

Supreme Court–mandated Special Investigation Team (SIT), supervised by the CBI, has uncovered a massive, long-running adulteration racket involving Tirumala’s sacred laddu prasadam a symbol of divine grace taken home by millions of devotees.

According to the SIT’s findings:

  • An Uttarakhand-based firm, reported as Bhole Baba Organic Dairy, allegedly supplied approximately 68 lakh kg of adulterated ghee to TTD between 2019 and 2024, valued at nearly ₹250 crore.
  • The supplied material allegedly contained palm oil blends, hydrogenated fats, and chemical additives engineered to imitate pure desi ghee.
  • The firm reportedly lacked legitimate milk procurement, used proxy dairies, and continued supplies even after being blacklisted.
  • Arrests have already been made, including individuals linked to the chemical additives used in the adulteration process.

This is not a routine quality-control failure.
This is a deliberate betrayal of faith, a desecration of sacred trust, and a collapse of institutional responsibility at the highest level.

A Systemic Failure That Cannot Be Ignored

Hindu temples sustained entirely through Hindu devotion, donations, and centuries-old tradition remain dangerously vulnerable to mismanagement and exploitation. What occurred at Tirupati exposes:

  • Weak oversight mechanisms
  • Opaque procurement chains
  • A disturbing disconnect between temple administrations and devotees

Such failures are not isolated administrative lapses; they are structural weaknesses that demand urgent reform.

GHHRC’s Clear and Non-Negotiable Demands

GHHRC demands:

  • Complete purification and restructuring of TTD’s procurement and supply processes
  • Criminal accountability for every individual and entity involved in supplying adulterated ghee
  • Full transparency and public disclosure of all corrective measures taken
  • national policy framework to protect Hindu temples and sacred prasadam from corruption, exploitation, and negligence

The sanctity of prasadam is non-negotiable.
The faith of millions is not an administrative formality.
And the trust of devotees is not a resource to be abused.

GHHRC will continue its campaign until every layer of this scandal is exposed and every offender is brought to justice.
